| Description | Includes two original illustrations in black ink, watercolour and [gouache] with tracing paper overlays annotated with printing instructions. The illustrations are untitled and undated, but elements within the design suggest that they may relate in some way to Adrian Mole: The Wilderness Years (CH/5/1). The file also contains an A3 sheet with a small pen and ink illustration marked ‘frontispiece’ in pencil (CH/5/2); a preparatory pencil and crayon sketch [possibly for an Adrian Mole Christmas Card] (CH/5/3); and a series of unidentified finished illustrations in black ink, pencil, watercolour and [gouache]. Many of the illustrations have been cut out from larger sheets of paper and then left loose; some have also been numbered, or annotated with diary dates (CH/5/4). |
