AdminHistory | Christopher J. Hughes (b. 1918) came to Leicester as a Lecturer in Politics in 1957 and was appointed to the Chair of Politics in 1962. He specialised in political theory and was an expert on Switzerland. He retired from the University in 1981. During the war he served in an Indian Infantry Regiment and was a prisoner of the Japanese in Siam for for three and a half years. After Prof. Hughes' death in November 2005, his literary executor Prof. Clive H. Church offered books to the Library which were declined The following papers (D7/10-20) were received into the Archive as an addition to the deposited collection already held and as a record of the work and relationships within the Department of Politics. |
