AdminHistory | James Crompton was appointed as Warden of Digby Hall in 1961. He was educated at Manchester and Oxford Universities and had been a lecturer in history at University College, London, University College, Oxford and Rhodes University, South Africa before coming to Leicester. During the war he served in the Intelligence Corps in Egypt, Palestine and Italy. He died in 1975. The papers relate principally to his research on Wyclif and the Lollards and to his lectures in medieval history. |
